Brake and Wheel Contact
To make the SCA rotor and connected aluminum wheel as an effective integrated brake system, the SCA
rotor hat and the aluminum wheel should have proper contact, which means sufficient contact area, larger
rotor hat OD, larger aluminum wheel mounting hub OD, and clean contact surfaces (FIG 11). The SCA
rotors with ODs equal or less than 12" can use most commercially available aluminum wheels. Larger
rotors will need modification on the aluminum wheel hub ODs.
